Approach To Care
Emphasis on whole patient care including a developmental approach across the lifespan. Substance Use Disorders (SUDs) are chronic conditions like diabetes, hypertension, epilepsy/seizures and migraines. Like these other chronic conditions, SUDs can be successfully managed with medications and other treatments. Patients doing well with medication-assisted treatment (MAT) are virtually indistinguishable from the general population – with the exception of taking a daily medication – which most people also take.
