Sojourner Recovery Services is bringing a fresh approach to group therapy by introducing tablet-based learning alongside the Recovery First (R1) Curriculum. This program offers interactive, trauma-informed sessions that focus on things like relapse prevention and emotional regulation.
The use of tablets makes sessions more engaging and personal — clients can journal privately, track goals, and receive real-time feedback. It’s a more flexible, empowering way to participate in group therapy, and since making the switch, Sojourner has seen increased client satisfaction, stronger group retention, and more confident facilitators!
One client shared, “Using the tablet made me feel like I was really involved in my own recovery. I could reflect privately and then talk openly with the group when I was ready.”
It’s also helping reduce stigma for clients who may not feel comfortable speaking up right away in a traditional group setting.
We’re excited to find new ways to support recovery. If you or someone you know could benefit from our services, reach out to learn more!
